OpenList USA is an independent For-Sale-By-Owner and Rent-By-Owner technology marketplace. We connect sellers, buyers, renters, and landlords directly — no agents, no commissions, no transaction-linked fees.

Why we built this

In 2024, the National Association of Realtors reached a landmark settlement that changed how real estate commissions work in America. For the first time, millions of homeowners began asking: “Do I really need to pay 5–6% to sell my own property?”

The answer, for many, is no. A typical 6% commission on a $300,000 home is $18,000. OpenList USA gives you the same tools to list, market, and negotiate your property for a fraction of that cost — starting at $4.99 per month. The rest of that money stays in your pocket.

Our founder

OpenList USA was founded by J'Cee Melder in 2026. After seeing how much families lost to agent commissions — and how little technology existed to help FSBO sellers compete — J'Cee built OpenList USA to level the playing field with AI-powered pricing, an encrypted Deal Room for secure document exchange, and a platform that treats every user the same regardless of how much they're spending.

What we are (and what we're not)

OpenList USA is a technology platform and marketplace. We are not a licensed real estate broker, agent, salesperson, mortgage lender, title company, escrow company, or law firm. We do not represent any party in a transaction, and we do not collect commissions or referral fees. All AI-generated content on the platform is educational only and should never be treated as professional advice.

We strongly recommend working with a licensed real estate attorney in your state before completing any real estate transaction. Our platform gives you the tools — your attorney gives you the legal protection.
